Governor's Youth Advisory Council
Being a responsible citizen doesn't mean sitting back and letting other people make decisions for you. It means getting involved in shaping the character of our families, our schools, our communities and our state.
The Governor's Youth Advisory Council (GYAC) is a body of young Nebraskans between the ages of 14 and 19 who are committed to being informed and taking a stand on the public issues that affect young people the most - education, finance, careers and employment, recreation, health, drug and alcohol abuse, foster care and more.
Applications are accepted throughout the year for review at the winter or summer meeting. When applications are received between meetings, they are held until the next review cycle.
